Sound Primary School - Discussion with the bairns about the Construction Industry
We were invited to the Sound Primary School to do a presentation on the construction industry and how they relate to things we use everyday.
The idea was to make a link to the world of work in some way. To give the the bairns an idea of the kind of projects that happen in the construction industry and some of the jobs exist within these, but in very simple terms e.g. a civil engineer uses a laser/ theodolite to take measurements but would not need to go into how the measurements are used We made links to what they do in school, e.g. using Lego to make models or learning how to multiply in maths, how an engineer would use those skills in their jobs.
